Privacy Policy

We collect as little as we can, we tell you what we have, and we do not sell it. This page says exactly what happens to your information when you use this site. Heartwood is a trading name of Dry Bone Ventures, LLC.

What we collect

When you send us a message. The contact form asks for your name, your email address, what you are looking for, and whatever you want to tell us. We also record which page you sent it from. That is the whole form. Nothing on it is collected that we do not need to write you back.

How you found us. Your browser stores the page you first landed on, the site that referred you, any campaign tags in the link you followed, and a Google click identifier if you arrived from an ad. The first visit is kept in localStorage and the current one in sessionStorage, and both are sent along if you fill in the form. They tell us which of our writing actually reaches people. If you never fill in the form, they never leave your browser.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and records page views. We also record three moments of our own: when you start the contact form, when you submit it, and when that becomes an enquiry. We read the client identifier from Google’s own cookie so an enquiry can be matched to the visit it came from.

The newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address and nothing else.

Server logs. Our host keeps ordinary request logs, the kind every web server writes.

Who else sees it

We are a small team and we do not run our own infrastructure. An enquiry passes through these services, each of which sees only what it needs:

• Netlify hosts the site and serves every page.
• Supabase stores your submission.
• Linear is where we track the work, so your enquiry becomes an item someone is responsible for answering.
• Brevo holds our contact list and sends the newsletter.
• Google Chat receives an internal note so we see a new enquiry quickly.
• Google Analytics receives the site usage described above.

We do not sell your information, we do not trade it, and we do not hand it to anyone else except where the law requires it.

Where it is stored

We do not run our own servers, so your information lives with the services above. They are companies of their own, they operate in more than one country, and your information may be stored or handled outside the country you live in. Each one publishes what it does, which is why every name above is a link.

What you can ask us to do

Write to hello@heartwood.agency and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We would rather you ask than wonder. We will not treat you differently for asking.

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. To refuse analytics, your browser’s cookie settings and Google’s own opt-out both work, and clearing site data for this domain removes what is stored in your browser.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry for as long as the conversation it started is useful, and our contact list until you unsubscribe. If you ask us to delete something, we delete it.

Children

This site is meant for the people who hire us. It is not aimed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes we will change the date at the top. It is version controlled along with the rest of the site, so the history of it is a matter of record.
