This is an ongoing embedded partnership, not a one-time project.

An AI travel assistant that turns a tourist into an adventurer
We designed and built a web-based AI assistant prototype for Kitty Hawk Kites, the Outer Banks’ most iconic adventure company. Visitors chat with the AI to explore real-time activity availability, get personalized recommendations, and build custom itineraries for their trip. The proof of concept reimagines how a tourism brand could connect with its guests.

Helping churches make sense of their data so they can serve their people better
Data for Good is a SaaS platform helping churches collect metrics, surface accountability, and visualize their data in ways that actually drive decisions. Founder Amber Smart had a working MVP and a clear vision, but needed experienced eyes on the codebase before putting real churches on it. Heartwood conducted a deep code review that identified critical security gaps and architectural opportunities, then delivered a production roadmap to take the product from promising prototype to something 900 churches could trust with their data.

Helping communities show up for each other when it matters most
Rallee is a platform that helps communities rally around each other during life’s biggest moments: a new baby, a health crisis, a family in transition. Founder Kevin Holst came to Heartwood with a vision and needed clarity before committing to a full build. Through a Clarity Sprint, we helped shape the product vision, evaluate technical options, plan integrations with platforms like Planning Center and Rock RMS, and produce a roadmap he could trust moving forward.
