Partnership

Embedded Team: a senior engineer inside your team, by the month

You need people, not a project.

A senior engineer inside your team, with the size of your lane deciding how much of their focus is yours.

Quarter lane
$6,500/month
Half lane
$12,500/month
Full lane
$25,000/month

Billed monthly, in advance · 3-month minimum.

Start the conversation

Every Partnership begins with a Starter, so both sides know what they’re committing to before anyone commits.

Is this you?

Check any that fit. If two are true, you’re in the right place, and your answers come with you to the form below.

Not you? See all six Starters, or tell us what’s going on

Three sizes of lane

Quarter lane
$6,500/monthA quarter of one person’s focus. They work with three other clients alongside you.
Half lane
$12,500/monthHalf of one person’s focus. They split their week between you and one other client.
Full lane
$25,000/monthAll of one person’s focus. They are yours, and they work on nothing else.

Engineering, engineering leadership, or developer relations: every lane costs the same.

Need more than one person? Add lanes. Three lanes is three people’s focus, sized however you like, and every lane comes with the same team behind it.

How billing works

  • Billed monthly, in advance.
  • 3-month minimum.
  • Scale up any time, with a month’s notice.
  • Scale down after your first three months, with a month’s notice.

What comes with every lane

You get a person, supported by a team.

  • BenchSeveral teammates onboard to your codebase, so when someone is out, the work keeps moving.
  • Review before it reaches youA teammate reviews every change before your team sees it. Nothing ships unreviewed.
  • Flexible capacityScale the lane up or down without hiring or firing anyone.
  • Engineering leadershipOngoing coaching on the technical and the human side. Our people compound; a lone hire plateaus.
  • ToolingWe cover the AI tooling stack. You don’t buy seats, we do.

A person, never alone

You could hire a contractor for less. You’d get one person, one skill set, and nobody behind them. No manager. No one reviewing their code. No tooling. When they’re stuck, sick, or three reviews behind, that becomes your problem.

A lane is different. You get a senior engineer and the team around them: a manager who’ll have the hard conversations, a coach invested in their growth as a person and as an engineer, peers who review every change before it reaches you, and the AI tooling to do their best work. All of it, in one price per lane.

The contractor problems it removes

  • Your best contractor becomes your bottleneckTheir changes pile up waiting for someone on your side to review. We review first, so the pile never forms.
  • Keeping them busy becomes your jobKeeping the work moving is ours, not yours. The next ticket is proposed before you ask.
  • The awkward conversationFit isn’t right? Tell us. We’ll coach them, or find a better fit for your team. Either way, that conversation is ours, not yours.

What engagements usually look like

Every team is different, but most engagements look like one of these.

  • Your team gets back to what matters.
    Engineering leadership · 1 quarter lane · 6 months

    $6,500/month$39,000 total

The people who ran your Team Diagnosis stay on to lead the changes: the cadence, the one-on-ones, the hard conversations, until it holds without us.

    Usually follows Team Diagnosis.

  • You hit your launch date.
    Engineering · 2 full lanes · 3 months

    $50,000/month$150,000 total

Two senior engineers on your roadmap full-time, every change reviewed by the team behind them, for the stretch that decides the launch.

    Usually follows Team Trial.

  • The right people find it and keep using it.
    Developer relations · 1 half lane · 6 months

    $12,500/month$75,000 total

Community, events, spotlights and walkthroughs every week, until the people you built it for arrive on their own and stay.

    Usually follows Get Noticed.

Three kinds of work

  • Embedded engineersSenior engineers inside your team, taking work off your plate. They’re trained, coached, and backed by peers, so they show up with the next thing already moving. You keep a light touch on the flywheel. They keep the machine spinning.
  • Engineering leadershipA senior engineering leader inside your team, without hiring a CTO. Years of leading teams, applied to yours: the cadence, the decisions, the one-on-ones and the hard conversations, led until it holds without us. Usually starts with a Team Diagnosis.
  • Developer relationsSomeone whose job is the people you built it for. Community strategy, events, spotlights and technical walkthroughs, week after week, so the right people find what you made and stay. Usually starts with a Get Noticed.

Your answers above

You haven’t checked any of the 7. That’s fine — they’re optional. Go back to the list

Most Embedded Teams start with a Team Trial or a Team Diagnosis. A lane is how much of one person’s focus is yours: a quarter, half, or all of it.
